Superior Antimicrobial Properties

In Bio-electrode Therapy, we use the biocompatible metals, copper and silver, as electrodes. We use water-based NO-VOC copper and silver solutions. Both these metals are known to have powerful antimicrobial and antipathogenic properties.


In past years, I have routinely used the application of silver to treat bacterial infections, such as tooth and skin and other infections using microsystems like Korean Hand Therapy and the simple topical applications for shingles, etc. Dr. Robert Becker was well known for his patented nylon-silver dressings to treat skin ulcers and infections. The silver ions penetrate the wound site.


I also knew that copper had potent antimicrobial properties and would kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi on contact, but they work slightly differently..


Silver (Ag⁺)


  • Broad-spectrum antimicrobial: bacteria, viruses, fungi

  • Disrupts bacterial DNA and protein synthesis

  • Inactivates enzymes and damages cell membranes

  • Used in wound dressings, coatings, and water purification


Copper (Cu²⁺)


  • Potent antibacterial and antifungal activity

  • Disrupts cell walls and membranes

  • Promotes oxidative damage to pathogens

  • Required in trace amounts for immune function

  • Often sparing beneficial organisms.

  • Both metals possess independent antimicrobial action, and when used together, they offer dual ionic activity, each targeting pathogens via complementary mechanisms.


Is the Combination of Copper + Silver More Potent?


Yes, in principle and clinical observation. By mixing the copper and silver BeT solutions, we create a stronger, more potent antimicrobial and antipathogenic effect.


  • Electrochemical synergy: the voltage difference enhances ion release and field strength

  • Broader spectrum: one may affect organisms, the other doesn’t

  • Directional current: BeT drives these ions through specific meridian pathways, bringing them to the site of infection or immune response

  • Localized field effect: The microcurrent itself may destabilize microbial colonies and biofilms


This combination may also support:

  • Immune regulation at the energetic level

  • Tissue healing (angiogenesis, fibroblast activation)

  • Detoxification of stagnant or infected areas


With the overuse of antibiotics losing their traditional effectiveness against different bacterial infections, they cannot treat viruses, and do not affect fungal infections. This 50/50 combination of using water-based NO-VOC copper and silver together may provide a valuable solution.
