Aligning Qi Flow with the Body’s Electrical Field

Bio-Electrode Therapy (BeT) is rooted in a simple but profound idea: health is field integrity. Where Qi (the body’s vital energy) flows smoothly, tissues thrive. Where the flow is blocked or reversed, pain and disease emerge. BeT restores this flow by re-establishing polarity and generating a therapeutic electrical field that works with, never against, the body’s natural order.
Qi Flow and Jing-Well Points
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), each meridian begins and ends at its Jing-Well point, the entry and exit portals of Qi. BeT places electrodes at these exact points to activate and realign the circuit of each channel.
Silver electrodes (cathodes) are placed at the Jing-Well entry points (numbered 1 on Yin meridians like LV 1, SP 1, KI 1).
Copper electrodes (anodes) are placed at the Jing-Well exit points (higher-numbered Yang meridians such as BL 67, ST 45, GB 44, or at LU 11, PC 9, HT 9).
This preserves the correct polarity, allowing Qi, ions, and electrons to align in harmony rather than conflict.
Why Polarity Matters
Electron flow moves from copper (anode) to silver (cathode).
Ionic and Qi influence spreads from silver toward copper, corresponding to the natural Yin-to-Yang circulation.
Together, these flows generate an electric field (EF) across the meridian, a biofield reset that restores communication between tissues and organs.
Unlike some acupuncture techniques that intentionally “sedate” by reversing flow, BeT does not force Qi against its natural direction. Instead, it strengthens coherence by repairing broken circuits.
BeT in Practice
When electrodes are applied correctly:
Local effects: Pain is eased, inflammation calms, and tissues repair faster.
Systemic effects: The All-Meridian method balances the entire network, making it effective in conditions such as addiction withdrawal, fibromyalgia, systemic infections and autoimmune disorders.
The therapeutic power lies not only in the ion release of copper and silver (with their antimicrobial properties), but in the restored electrical integrity of the biofield itself.
Why This Matters
In TCM language: BeT restores smooth Qi flow, preventing reversals that worsen disease.
In modern science: BeT entrains cell membranes, restores voltage gradients, and activates regenerative pathways.
In lived practice: BeT helps patients feel relief quickly and sustainably, without sedation or side effects.
Key Point:
BeT is not about overpowering the body, it’s about restoring the field that heals the field. The Qi of the meridians and the bioelectric currents of the cells are two ways of describing the same reality. When we align them, healing happens.
Close-Proximity Electrode Placement for Pain Anywhere in the Body
The Concept:
When pain is localized (e.g., tennis elbow, knee injury, frozen shoulder), the electrodes can be placed directly on either side of the pain site along the affected meridian. This maintains polarity while focusing the field exactly where it is needed.
Silver electrode (cathode): placed proximal to the flow of Qi (upstream, Yin side).
Copper electrode (anode): placed distal to the flow of Qi (downstream, Yang side).
This Configuration:
Creates a stronger local electric field (EF), because the electrodes are closer together.
Provides continuous microcurrent stimulation directly through the injured or diseased tissues.
Enhances therapeutic action without increasing applied voltage.
Keeps electrodes more secure for long treatment sessions (not easily washed off by hand washing, friction and skin oils and sweating). This improves patient compliance.
Example: Tennis Elbow (LI Meridian)
Silver electrode: LI 10 (proximal to elbow crease)
Copper electrode: LI 12 (distal to elbow crease)
Result: A focused electrical field flows through the elbow joint tissues, reducing pain and promoting repair.
Clinical Notes
This strategy is especially effective for musculoskeletal pain, sprains, tendonitis, bursitis, and localized inflammation.
Less suited for systemic conditions (e.g., fibromyalgia, withdrawal syndromes), which still benefit most from All-Meridian protocols.
The therapeutic field remains consistent along the meridian, but local intensification boosts the regenerative signal.
Language for Patients
“You may feel nothing, or you may notice a light tingling. The healing field is being focused right where your pain lives. The silver electrode helps ‘draw out’ the disturbance, while the copper electrode helps ‘clear and reset’ the energy so the tissues can repair.”
