Keeping the electrodes securely in place is the key to success when using Bio-electrode Therapy (BeT), especially during detox and recovery. A stable connection ensures continuous bio-electrical flow through the acupuncture points, supporting pain relief, emotional balance, and detoxification.
This simple method can keep your copper and silver electrodes in place for up to several days, even through sleep and light daily activity.
What You’ll Need
Copper and silver electrodes (see protocol: Detox Protocol)
Pimple patches (inexpensive, easily found online)
Westmore Silicone Adhesive – available from Skycon (email: info@skycon.ca)
Alcohol swabs
(Optional) A small doe-foot bottle for transferring the silicone adhesive (makes application faster and cleaner)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Clean the Skin
Use an alcohol swab to thoroughly clean the acupuncture points where electrodes will be applied. This removes oils and sweat, ensuring good adhesion and electrical contact.
Apply the Electrodes
Place the copper and silver electrodes directly on the acupuncture points (typically fingers or toes). Let them dry completely before the next step.
Add Silicone Adhesive
Apply a small dab of Westmore Silicone Adhesive directly on top of each dry electrode. If using a doe-foot bottle, this process becomes clean, quick and precise.
Seal with Pimple Patches
Place a pimple patch over each silicone-covered electrode. Press gently to seal the edges.
Done!
This combination of silicone adhesive and pimple patch creates a strong, waterproof bond. The electrodes can stay in place for several days.
Helpful Tips
Handwashing: Use cold water instead of hot—heat may soften the adhesive and loosen the electrodes.
Durability: Electrodes on toes tend to last longer than those on fingers.
Replacements: If withdrawal symptoms return, check for loose or missing electrodes and simply replace them.
Extended Use: When you notice the electrodes patches becoming loose, simply re-cover the patches again with a dab of silicone, and they will remain secure for another day or so. After detox, or treating a pain issue, you can continue to use electrodes periodically for pain, anxiety, cravings, or insomnia. It takes time for the injured tissues to completely heal.
Alternative: Some people even secure the electrodes with 3M micropore tape or even duct tape, it’s not elegant, but it works!
Final Encouragement
Don’t give up on yourself, this therapy works!
Form a small group with friends for mutual support and help each other apply the therapy.
