In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Qi is understood as the life force, the vital
energy that flows through meridians and governs physical, emotional, and spiritual
health. It is both movement and intelligence: Qi warms, activates, transforms, defends,
and contains.
In modern science, we now describe a related concept through the language of physics
and biology: the biofield, an organized, dynamic, and measurable field of electrical,
magnetic, and ionic activity that governs physiological function and intercellular
communication.
Qi Is the Field
Bio-electrode Therapy (BeT) bridges these two paradigms. It recognizes Qi as the
intelligent organizing principle of the body, but interprets it through the modern
understanding of microcurrents, ion flows, and electromagnetic fields.
By placing copper (anode) and silver (cathode) electrodes on carefully selected Jing-Well
acupuncture points, BeT induces a gentle directional current that mimics and amplifies
the body's own microcurrents. This reactivates the meridians as conductive pathways, restoring coherence in the biofield, the physiological equivalent of restoring smooth Qi flow.
Why Polarity Matters
Each meridian in TCM has a direction and polarity. BeT respects this by using:
- Silver electrodes on Yin meridians (cathode)
- Copper electrodes on Yang meridians (anode)
This setup creates an electron flow from copper to silver, and an ionic and field effect
that entrains Qi from Yin → Yang, aligning with traditional theory.
Healing the Electrical Field to Heal the Body
Pain, disease, and trauma disturb the biofield, which in turn disturbs physiology. BeT
doesn’t just suppress symptoms; it restores polarity, coherence, and field order.
In this view, we are not merely treating tissues or chemistry. We are working at the level
of pattern and frequency, using the field to heal the field.
Clinical Integration
Practitioners trained in acupuncture already understand Qi. BeT simply extends that
understanding with modern tools and explanations, making it accessible to clinicians,
peer support workers, and patients alike. By integrating silver and copper-based microcurrent with acupuncture point stimulation, BeT provides a simple, non-pharmaceutical method to restore balance, reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and address systemic illness.
“Bio-electrode Therapy honors the ancient wisdom of meridians and Qi, and gives it
modern expression through the science of bioelectricity. It is truly a medicine of the
future rooted in the truths of the past.”
